Tell us about yourself. Who are you? :)
I'm a Brazilian photographer passionate about exploring the world through my lens. Constantly driven by a curiosity to discover new places, cultures, and people, I aim to capture the essence of each moment and share it with others through my art.
What are the artistic influences of your photography?
My artistic influences stem from a diverse range of sources, including the works of iconic photographers such as Ansel Adams and Henri Cartier-Bresson and the rich tapestry of nature, architecture, and human emotions surrounding me.
When do you feel the most creative and what inspires your expression?
My creativity peaks when I'm immersed in unfamiliar surroundings, whether I'm exploring a bustling city or wandering through serene landscapes. The sense of wonder and discovery accompanying these experiences fuels my creative spirit.
The interplay between light, shadow, and human emotion inspires my expression. Whether it's a candid street scene or a breathtaking natural vista, I strive to capture the raw authenticity of each moment, allowing viewers to connect with the scene's essence.
What does a day in your life look like?
A typical day is a blend of exploration, creativity, and connection. From scouting new locations and refining my technique behind the lens to editing images and connecting with fellow artists and enthusiasts, each day brings new opportunities for growth and inspiration.
"Little did I know, this spontaneous snapshot of Coimbra's urban beauty would later earn recognition from National Geographic Brazil."
Can you please share the specific story behind one of your favorite motifs?
After some days of moving to Portugal, I started exploring my new home, Coimbra. As I walked around, taking lots of photos, I needed a break, so I sat on a bench to check my phone. When I looked up again, I saw something extraordinary: a colourful graffiti wall in the middle of the old streets. The setting sun made the colours pop, and it looked unique. There was a staircase nearby, standing out against all the colourful graffiti. I quickly grabbed my camera and took a picture. Just then, some birds flew by, making the scene even more special.
Reflecting on the day's adventures, I realised that while I had spent hours chasing the perfect picture, it was ultimately the picture that found me. It was a beautiful coincidence that reminded me always to be open to life's surprises. Little did I know, this spontaneous snapshot of Coimbra's urban beauty would later earn recognition from National Geographic Brazil, a testament to the power of photography to capture the fleeting moments of everyday life and transform them into timeless works of art.
