"The photo was taken in Röttle village, three kilometers south of Gränna. Here visitors encounter a genuine cultural-historical environment with wooden houses from the 18th and 19th centuries and a series of industrial remains along the Röttleån ravine in dramatic but beautiful nature. Röttleån has given the place its name. This stretch of the river was named in the Middle Ages for rytlofors ? the roaring rapids. The oldest evidence of the name and mills in the river dates from 1279. The river is just over twelve kilometers long and forms the natural drainage of lakes Ören and Bunn with a drop height of 108 metres. In the last four kilometers, the drop height is 74 meters. A power station built in 1923 in Gränna has caused the river's flow to change and is smaller than before."
