"Skansen Kronan (The Crown Sconce) is a fortress situated on top of the mountain Risåsberget in the Haga district in Gothenburg. It was designed by Eric Dahlberg and built in 1687-1689 for the protection of the city. The crown was initially made of wood covered in golden copper and 12 people could stand inside it. The crown we see on top of the fortress today made of golden copper was placed there in 1899 and is big enough to fit 14 people. Through the years this fortress has served many purposes such as a prison in 1854, as emergency housing for the growing population of Gothenburg in 1874 and as a military museum from 1900. In 1925 the city of Gothenburg bought the mountain from the state and today it's an open place for the people of Gothenburg and visitors alike and its used as venue for events, weddings and parties, as a café and also for guided tours in several languages. Skansen Kronan is definitely a place to visit when in Gothenburg and it's one of the most symbolic buildings of the city."

Note that there will be a protective foil on both the front-and backside of the glass that needs to be removed for best experience and crystal clear looking glass.
