"In this series of digital paintings from 2019 and 2022, which I also convert into original silkscreen prints, I let my subject, the Lesereisende (reading traveller), travel through different landscapes in a relaxed way with a book in her hand and a cat on her belly. The landscapes are landscapes that I have personally travelled through or invented by painting. In German, "Lesereise" describes an imaginative journey inspired by a text, for example a novel, a non-fiction text or a travelogue. „Lesereisende“ is a woman who travels by reading. Books are meant to make what the author puts into words in terms of ideas, observation, knowledge, thoughts, etc., newly imaginable to the reader. Education, and thus the ability to read, enables people to re-imagine, recreate and travel to other people's places, things, people, animals, landscapes, knowledge, thoughts, feelings, etc. without leaving their place. "

Note that there will be a protective foil on both the front-and backside of the glass that needs to be removed for best experience and crystal clear looking glass.
