Nel is often surprised by the unexpected beauty found in simple, small things. Nature provides her with relaxation, wonder, freedom, and silence, offering a space where there is no judgment, right or wrong, and where one can simply be themselves.

Her photography journey began with macro shots, focusing on flowers, butterflies, and dragonflies. In recent years, Nel has drawn more broadly from nature as her source of inspiration, which has led to a shift in the style of her work. For her, photography is not about capturing reality but about conveying the experience, feeling, and impression. Composition, light, and color are key themes in her photos. Nel creates her own little world through techniques such as multiple exposure and Intentional Camera Movement (ICM).
