"At times life gets tangly, in various manners and different ways, that in itself is basically inevitable. Sometimes the tangles are easy enough to sort out, get out of. But at other times the tangles might be so hard to oversee or be of such painful character that seeing beyond it or finding a way through it poses as an enormous difficulty. If things go really wrong the tangles can spread unnoticed through the dark, reach out with its harmful twigs in an escalating manner and once its coverage is finally detected the tangles may in a worst case scenario already have pulled you into its depth and you find yourself caged in its merciless grip and a way out of the captivating tangles seems utterly impossible to find. This vase with witch hazel and its lonely rose searching through it, growing stronger despite the tangles, finding its way out to finally blossom, has a beautiful symbolism for me. My reminder that hope can always be found again no matter the devastating consequences of the tangles, that somewhere, even though obscured, is a way out also through the most painful of difficulties and on the other side awaits a new future where it is once again possible to bloom freely. I know it can be done cause the messy tangles that spred through my whole life, destroying everything in its wake, threatening to suffocate all that was once beautiful, sprung from a relationship of domestic violence from which I escaped a little over three years ago and from there started the building of a new future. "
