Alexanderplatz is the old heart of East Berlin and still one of the most visited places in Berlin. How do you capture this hustle and bustle, I asked myself and came up with the idea of combining the constantly rotating world clock with a passing tram in my picture. The world clock has always been a meeting place and people come, hug, take photos and move on after a few seconds. What remains is the rotation of the world clock and the passing trams before the next people meet again under the world clock.

The World Time Clock on Alexanderplatz in Berlin's Mitte district is a clock installation in a structural unit with a symbolic representation of the world. On its metal rotunda, it contains the names of 146 places as well as an additional entry for the International Date Line. Since its installation in 1969, the ten-meter-high World Time Clock has been a popular meeting place for Berliners and tourists in the German capital. The world time clock has been a listed building since July 2015.
